Cornerstone Surveyors was founded to fill a much-needed gap in the residential surveying market. We specialise in working with home buyers and sellers who want a tailored, personal and professional approach to their property survey or valuation. With a multitude of corporate entities flooding the market with cheap fees and mass-produced reports, we believe that a different approach is required in order to produce an individual report, tailored to the needs of our clients.
At Cornerstone, we undertake a holistic approach when conducting property surveys. Our goal is to provide our client with the best possible advice and only make further recommendations when absolutely necessary. In addition to this we make every effort to follow best practise and the latest guidance on approaching key issues such as damp, structural movement, cracking and property maintenance, etc.
Below is a brief list of guidance notes we refer to on a regular basis:
RICS Home Survey Standards
British Standard 7913 – Code of practice for the conservation of historic buildings
British Standard 5250+A1 – Code of practice for the control of condensation
RICS, Historic England & PCA – Investigation of moisture and its effects on traditional buildings
BRE Digest 251 – Assessing cracks in houses
Our services are tailored to the client and individual property, ensuring they receive a report that is specific for their needs.
